Biometric passports
As from 1 March 2013 in circulation and internationally recognized are only Albanian biometric passports as travel documents.
Authorities responsible for issuing biometric passports
The Albanian Embassy in Brussels is responsible for passports issuing requested by the Albanian citizens permanently resident in the Netherlands.
The applications could be submitted also directly to the local registry offices in Albania where the citizens have theirs permanent address.
The Albanian nationals applying for the biometric passports have to appear in person by the responsible offices.
ID cards
Are to be provided with biometric passports Albanian nationals who already have applied and received ID cards. ID cards can be issued at the Albanian Embassy in Brussels.
