Dutch public documents
All public documents issued by the Dutch authorities need to be certified according to the Apostille Convention (5 October 1961) prior to be presented at the Albanian authorities for further proceedings.
Dutch authorities for issuing apostilles
In the Netherlands apostilles can be acquired by the regional court houses ("Arrondissements rechtbank). Responsible are the court houses of the region by which the certificate (birth, death, marriage) or other official document are issued.
The document issued by the Dutch authorities that bears an apostille does not require any further legalization by the Albanian Embassy.
Albanian public documents
The same procedure is applied for the Albanian public documents to be presented to the Dutch authorities.
The documents with apostilles do not need to be legalized by the Dutch Embassy/Consulate.
Albanian authorities for issuing apostilles
The Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Albania, Consular Directorate, Section for Legalization, is the responsible authority to provide the Albanian documents with apostilles.
