During her visit to the USA, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, held a meeting with the team that will represent Albania in the Security Council.
Minister Xhaçka mentioned that the mandate in the Security Council will give Albania the opportunity to be heard and to contribute to the most important platform of global politics.
“This is a golden opportunity to promote the diplomatic interests and objectives of Albania and the Albanians, giving the priority to the Kosovo issue and the regional stability. Moreover, it is an opportunity that allows us to strengthen cooperation with our allies and contribute in a concrete manner to advance some common priorities, such as the Women’s Agenda, Peace and Security or the fight against Violent Radicalism and the security challenges stemming from global warming. What makes me feel really good is the fact that our team of diplomats are not only fully aware of the great responsibility they have towards the country, but at the same time they are up to the task to face the challenges that await them”, said the minister after the meeting.
Minister Xhaçka’s meeting with the representative team in the Security Council comes three weeks before the start of Albania’s mandate in the UN Security Council.
