One of the most prestigious and most visited Galleries in Athens, the "Kalfayan" Gallery, presented to Greek, Albanian and foreign art lovers, the personal exhibition of the Albanian artist Adrian Paci entitled "PopolodisenzaParola". This is his second personal exhibition in this Gallery.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Albania in Greece, Mrs. Luela Hajdaraga, was present accompanied by the Diaspora Officer, Mrs. Joneda Dodaj.
Mr. Paci was presented at this exhibition with a series of sculptures and new woven wool carpets, which were woven on a loom by a women's craft community, created in the 1990s in Shkodër. The dominant motif in the sculptures and carpets refers to the artist's designs based on the pages of notebooks belonging to Maurizio, a man with Asperger syndrome, who constantly and systematically kept handwritten notes in his "enigmatic" language.
Artist Paci focuses on the power and socio-political role of 'language' and his works reflect a challenging vibrating space, a space between what is said, what is implied and what is sometimes not intentionally shown. His experiences as an expatriate occupy a central place in his work. His works often refer to themes of displacement, separation and memory and are shaped by an emotional sympathy for the individual. The artist transforms the existential moments of human life into stunning and timeless images.
The gallery will remain open until October 15, 2022.
