On November 28th, 2021, the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Athens organized a festive reception for the Albanian community in Greece on the premises of the Divani Caravel Hotel, on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Albania.
In her speech, Ambassador Mrs. Luela Hajdaraga expressed her gratitude for the celebration of this marked day with compatriots, together with the Head of the Office of Interests of Kosovo in Greece, Mr. Fitim Gllareva, the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Republic of North Macedonia in Greece, Mr. Samir Ganija and with the former honorable Ambassador of Albania in Athens, Mr. Bashkim Zeneli.
The attendees enjoyed a special artistic program, presented by the author Elona Gjergo, with the debut of the Poem "Baballarët" by Petrit Ruka, by the famous actor Nikolla Llambro, orchestral pieces with firsamonica by the well-known musician Dasho Kurti, the group of the children's dances of the Albanian school, Rendi, under the leadership of teacher Lefteri Metkaj, the polyphonic group "Lot kurbeti", the virtuoso singer Teuta Pango, the polyphonic group "Vllazerimi", the dance group of the association "Jeta" and the instrumental trio with music classical, Yllka Pine, Sokrat Kana and Dhimitra Mantzouratou, accompanied by dancer/choreographer Andrea Rama.
The marigotes of the diaspora continued to embroider our national flag, a symbolism which shows us the importance of the continuity of our national traditions. The evening culminated with the lighting of Omonia square, in the center of Athens, with the colors of our national flag, a solemn moment in respect of our holiday and the Albanian community in Greece.
