It was our pleasure to welcome the Albanian delegation to the Embassy premises, after the meeting of the Albanian-Greece intergovernmental committee in the field of social security.

On September 6-7, 2022, the meeting of Albanian-Greece technical experts on social security issues took place for the first time in Athens. The technical discussions and the exchange of information related to the social security systems of both countries open the beginning of a series of meetings aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of insurance.

Albania and Greece, as two neighboring and friendly countries, are linked by a long history of coexistence, both of the Albanian community in Greece and of Greek citizens with work activities and contributions in Albania. In this context, the start of talks at expert level is a step in the right direction for strengthening inter-institutional cooperation as well as a good omen for reaching an agreement in the field of pensions, which is in the interest of Albanian and Greek citizens with contributions to the economies of both countries.

The technical discussions between the delegations, the exchange of knowledge and the analysis of problems, which took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, will continue at the next meeting in Tirana.
