The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Albania to the United Nations, hosted a cultural event in honor of the internationally acclaimed Albanian soprano Ermonela Jaho

The Permanent Representative of Albania to the United Nations, Ambassador Besiana Kadare, in collaboration with the distinguished photographer Fadil Berisha, organized at the Mission of Albania a cultural event in honor of the internationally acclaimed Albanian Soprano Ermonela Jaho, who is currently performing Puccini’s “Madam Butterfly" at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

The event was attended by representatives of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the United Nations and Albanian American community, mainly from the field of art.

In her welcoming remarks Ambassador Kadare highlighted the remarkable international success of Ermonela Jaho, who has been performing in all of the great opera houses throughout the world. On behalf of the Government of Albania and her personal name, Ambassador Kadare expressed her gratitude to Ermonela Jaho for promoting Albania’s good image in the world, as an outstanding Ambassador of our Culture.

In a friendly atmosphere guests enjoyed the impressive and often improvised performances of well-known Albanian artists: singer Mira Konci accompanied in piano by composer Shpëtim Saraçi, Lori and Angelo Miho,  Riad Ymeri and Ergin Oda. All guests expressed appreciation for the fact that the Mission of Albania to the UN had de facto become a center for Albanian culture and arts.
