Amid a marvelous festive atmosphere, the Albanian community in New York celebrated 104 years of the Independent Albania. The event was organized under the attention of the Assemblyman from the 80th District of New York, Mr. Mark Gjonaj, a number of Albanian associations in New York and thanks to the special contribution of Mr. Sal Rusi.
The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Albania to the United Nations, Ambassador Besiana Kadare, extended the congratulations to the Albanian community of New York for the celebration of the 104th Independence Day. Ambassador Kadare evaluated the tremendous contributions of this community which constitutes a valuable representative of each Albanian speaking region.
The Mayer of New York, Mr. Bill de Blasio was warmly welcomed in the event and cheered by the merrymakers as he pointed out the importance of the Albanian community contribute in the everyday life of New York.
The head of the General Consulate of Kosovo in NY, Ambassador Teuta Sahatqija congratulated as well the participants on the celebrations of the Independence day.
