British archaeologist presents Albania through archeology

Albanian Embassy in London in cooperation with the  Anglo Albanian Association organized on January 25, 2017 at the premises of the embassy ​​a presentation on the history of the Albanian archeology. This topic was introduced by Mr. Oliver Gilkes, archeology researcher, who very eloquently informed the participants about the history of the Albanian archeology from ancient times up to the present.
Mr. Gilkes has gained a long experience in the field of archeology working at Institute of World Archaeology University of East Anglia. He has helped to coordinate the work of the Gjirokastra Foundation, advised on the development of cultural heritage projects and provided practical input into museums and guide training in Albania.

Ambassador Qirko, thanking members of the Anglo Albanian Association for their participation and contribution in organizing this event, praised the outstanding work of archaeologist Gilkes and emphasized that Albania is a glamorous country even in the field of archeology.
During a cocktail at the end of event the participants had the opportunity to exchange their views and experiences on archeology and other topics related to Albania.
