The ambassador of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Qirjako Qirko, welcomed at the embassy Mr. Stephen Nash, the director of the Anglo-Albanian Association. Mr Nash expressed his willingness to continue the cooperation with the Albanian embassy on promoting the image of the Albanian society.
Ambassador thanked the Association for its ongoing contribution in promoting Albanian culture in Britain and assured Mr. Nash of embassy’s full support to upcoming activities.
The Anglo-Albanian Association (AAA) evolved from a committee, established in 1912 by Aubrey Herbert, the renowned diplomat, scholar and MP. His aim was to champion Albania’s right to independence. An early supporter as Secretary was Edith Durham, who won fame as a foreign correspondent, traveller, and anthropologist of the Balkans.
