Economic Cooperation Agreement Between the UAE and Albania.

The UAE Ministry of Economy has signed an agreement on economic cooperation with the republic of Albania to develop economic, trade and technical co-operation between the two countries. 

H.E Eng. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori UAE Minister of Economy has signed the agreement with H.E Edmond Haxhinasto, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs. Within the agreement both countries will develop and strengthen economic, trade and technical co-operation in the fields of Trade, Industry, Agriculture, Transport, Telecommunications, Tourism and Investment.

Both parties will prepare in this respect, studies aimed at exploring the possibilities to execute the identified projects, and shall encourage economic co-operation for the joint achievement of projects in the two countries. Both Parties shall take all necessary measures for the encouragement of trade and technical co-operation between specialized entities, companies and authorized natural persons of the two countries in particular by the exchange of experts, scientists, technicians, students and trainees in the relevant fields.

"The agreement is a major step to form the joint economic committee between both countries," Al Mansoori said. 

He also said the agreement falls within the ministry's program in 2012 to promote policy of international openness and building economic relations with leading countries in the world which is considered strategic for the UAE, in order to promote economic diversification and attract foreign investment and international expertise to support of innovation and the requirements of the knowledge economy, pointing out that the ministry succeeded in 2011 in promoting the policy of international openness through a range of activities and strategic projects that have contributed to open new prospects for cooperation with a number of countries in the world.

He said that the Ministry through these activities aimed to strengthen the frameworks of international communication and exchange of experiences in the development of SMEs and to encourage a culture of innovation and creativity.

The Ministry has also organized official visits to Australia and Montenegro to explore new cooperation opportunities and which resulted in the development of bilateral relations to higher levels.

 

For his part, Albanian Deputy Prime Minister said the UAE is a major gateway to the Middle East and has a key strategic location as a hub of world trade. He pointed out that Albania is looking forward to strengthening economic cooperation in all fields and to encourage joint investments between the two countries and strengthen the terms of trade through the establishment of a joint plan, pointing out that this agreement will contribute to the achievement of these trends and will work to hold the joint economic committee between the two countries at the earliest time.

Through the agreement both countries shall encourage the participation in international afairs and exhibitions, which will be held alternatively on the territory of the two countries. They will also support the exchange of visits of commercial delegations.
