Chamber of Commerce and Industry Portugal - Albania

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Portugal - Albania (Câmara de Comercio e Indústria Luso - Albanesa) established on 6 of April 2010 in Lisbon, Portugal, is the first institution witch primary goal is to connect the two countries' markets, promoting the development of the trade missions and to boost bilateral industrial competitiveness of products in the European market .

The Ceremony of the public announcement of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Portugal - Albania was held on May 12, 2010 in the premises of the Palacio Conde d' Obidos. The event was attended by the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ilir Meta, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, heads of various institutions on the field of the Portuguese economy, trade, tourism industry, executives of AICEP ( Agency for Investment and Foreign trade of Portugal ), representatives of Luso - Illyrian Institute based in Lisbon, businessmen and local media.

At the ceremony were present representatives from more than 15 Portuguese companies operating in various fields such as construction, energy, pharmaceutical, tourism, insurance and banking.

According to the statute, the three basic structures of the Chamber are the Administrative Council Chamber, the General Assembly and the Fiscal Council. These structures are headed by Mr. Antonijo Joao Fernandes , President of the Administrative Council of CCIAL , Mr. Antonijo Belem , President of the Fiscal Council and Mr.Joao Miguel Antonio Fernandes, President of the General Assembly and Mr.Valdemar Gonzalves , currently Honorary Consul of Albania in Porto, was elected Vice President of the Assembly.
During his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs , Mr. Ilir Meta , while giving an overview of the economic and political situation in Albania , in particular, he focused on the opportunities that this cooperation began between Portugal and Albania would bring to the future. He assured his commitment on the support that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as to the organization of a business forum in Lisbon with the participation of companies from Albanian, interested in establishing contacts and developing bilateral cooperation in areas of common interests.

The Albanian Ambassador to Portugal, Mr. Edmond Trako stressed that the foundation of this institution will play an important role in economic and cultural development of Albania and Portugal, matching efforts to make this mission a reality with great interest to both of our countries.
