Ambassador Trako attends the inauguration of the Albanian artist’s exhibition, Saimir Strati, in Portugal.

From 19 to 22 February 2014, in the city of Ponte de Sor was organized the traditional international cultural - artistic festival, entitled, "7 Suns and 7 Moons". This event was hosted by the Cultural Association that bears the same name, and the Cultural Center of Ponte City de Sor, under the auspices of local government and the Albanian Embassy in Lisbon.

Since 1993, this festival is traditionally held in different countries of the Mediterranean region, in the framework of an international artistic and cultural project, attended by the 13 Luso-Mediterranean countries, which are part of this cultural network. This year, the main artist invited to this event, was the Albanian artist Saimir Strati, seven times in the Book of World Records "Guinness" for his artistic works in mosaics of gigantic proportions, created with various materials like crystals, nails, cork, brushes, sea shell, etc.

The opening ceremony of this activity took place at the City Hall of Ponte de Sor. During this ceremony, the organizers introduced the Albanian artist and discussed the possibility to organize this festival, even in Albania. This event was attended by the Mayor of Ponde do Sor, Mr. Hugo Perreira Hilario , President of the local Parliament, the President of the Association "Sete Sois-Sete Luas", the Albanian  Ambassador, Mr. Edmond Trako, etc.

Following the ceremony, Mr. Saimir Strati opened his exhibition of about 30 personal works titled "7 Stars". He also, brought in this Festival a part of one of his mosaics with cork, already part of the Book of World Records "Guinness". He will perform this work during the days of the exhibition with the participation of young Portuguese artists who have shown a lot of interest in knowing closely the artistic technique applied by Strati. Also the Albanian artist introduced the Albanian art, culture and history to the Portuguese artists and local audiences.
