“Rruga” a film and photo exhibition recently presented at the Art Gallery of the Albanian Embassy in the Hague, 10 to 22 November 2016

Dutch visual artist Su Tomesen has recently done an artist-in-residence at the Tirana Institute of Contemporary Art (TICA), supported by Mondriaan Fonds.
She realised the 30 minute film installation ‘Rruga’ (2016), about micro economy and resourcefulness in public space in Tirana. Street vendors claim sidewalks, kiosks open and close, private enterprises invade public space. The rhythm of the film follows the rhythm of a day, without explanation nor dialogue. Unintentional compositions, colours, forms and repetitive qualities remind of installations of performance art.
