President of Albania Ilir Meta met and discussed with the Speaker of Hungarian Parliament, Mr. László Kövér emphasizing excellent historical relations and friendship between Albania and Hungary. President Meta thanked the Hungarian Parliament for supporting the European agenda of Albania.

Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Wednesday met Albanian President Ilir Meta in Parliament to discuss the two countries’ developing bilateral ties, border protection and the enlargement of the European Union in the Balkans.

President Ilir Meta met on 21 June 2018 János Áder his Hungarian counterpart, for talks on Albania’s European integration, issues around migration, as well as opportunities in the area of water management cooperation. Meta said that European Integration of Albania would help advance peace and stability in the Balkan region. Albania is doing everything in its power to meet Europe’s expectations concerning its handling of mass migration, adding that his country was cooperating with the EU, the bloc’s border management agency Frontex, as well as its neighbouring countries.

Meeting with Students

Ambassador Spasse had another conversation with students of political sciences of the Kodolanyi Janos University of Applied Sciences in Budapest. The event took place as an initiative of Professor Andras Lorincz, and was part of the Diplomacy & Beyond talk series organized by the Institute for Cultural Relations Policy. Albanian-Hungarian bilateral relations, nowadays and in the past, as well as Albania’s endeavors towards EU membership were the main topics discussed through questions and answers.

Albania and European Union

A round table at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, initiated by Lecturer Etleva Lala, brought together Hungarian students, Erasmus students, lecturers and Ambassador Spasse in a discussion focusing on Albania's endeavors towards the European Union. Mr. János Huszár, former Ambassador of Hungary to Albania, was also present at the table.

Cooperation in Turism

On 20 April 2018 the Albanian National Tourism Agency signed a cooperation contract with Mrs. Julianna Kovacs. From now on she will represent Albanian Tourism in Hungary and promote Albania as a convenient tourist destination. Ambassador Spasse received Mrs. Kovacs today and discussed with her the steps ahead focusing not only on visitors, but also on potential investors.3 May 2018

Cooperation in Art

Ambassador Spasse had the pleasure to meet today with Mr. Devich Márton, Director of the Hungarian Bartok Radio, and discuss with him opportunities of cooperation. As a first step, some Albanian classical pieces can be heard in the weeks to come on Bartok Radio.

Visit of Tirana’s Mayor in Budapest

The Mayor of Tirana Mr. Erion Veliaj, and a group of public transportation operators visited the BYD plant in Komárom, Hungary, to see the production line of electric buses and discuss on the opportunities of operating them. Looking forward to seeing these 0 emissions buses on the streets of Tirana.
