The President of Albania, Mr. Ilir Meta, meets with the Prime Minister of Hungary, Mr. Viktor Orban

The meeting between the Albanian President, Mr. Ilir Meta and the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban focused on the bilateral relations between Albania and Hungary. Prime Minister Orban, during the discussion, assured President Meta that Hungarian business is ready to invest in those sectors that the Albanian side considers vital. On his part, President Meta praised the presence of certain Hungarian businesses in Albania and underlined that they will always be welcomed in the Albanian environment.

In the framework of an official visit to Hungary, the President of Albania, Mr. Ilir Meta, held a meeting with the President of Hungary, Mr. János Áder. During the meeting, which was characterized by a friendly atmosphere, the two presidents addressed a number of topics related to bilateral relations and issues that challenge human society today. They shared the view that a coordinated and committed approach between countries would ease the tackling these challenges.

Announcement! As of 10 June 2021, the agreement between Albania and Hungary on the mutual recognition of immunization certificates enters into force. According to this agreement, Albanian and Hungarian citizens, who hold a vaccination against Covid-19 certificate, can enter to the territories of Albania and Hungary without being subject to pandemic restrictions.

Working on a calendar of joint events marking the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Albania and Hungary,Ambassador Spasse had a pleasant meeting with the Director General of the Research Center for the Humanities in the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Mr. Balázs Balogh. They discussed on the bonds between our countries, on the current situation in Albania and its projection in the future. They also decided to work together towards a joint conference next year including the contributions of fellow members of the Albanian Academy of Sciences.

Official visit of Prime Minister Edi Rama to Budapest

A government delegation led by the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, paid an official visit to Budapest on June 7 and 8 upon invitation of the Prime Minister of Hungary, Mr. Viktor Orban. The ministers Manastirliu, Balluku, Kushi and Ahmetaj, and the Mayor of Tirana, Veliaj, were part of the delegation, as well. The main meeting took place in the Office of the Prime Minister , where the parties discussed issues on the bilateral relations in the areas of economy, culture, education, healthcare, etc.
