Official reception on the occasion of Albania's election to the UN Security Council

A few days after the voting in the UN General Assembly, where Albania received 175 votes as a member of the Security Council for the next two years, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka organized an official reception at the Palace of Brigades in Tirana, with the participation of the Prime Minister Rama, members of the government cabinet, the diplomatic corps accredited in Tirana, academics, Former Foreign Ministers and media representatives. 

Prespa Forum for Dialogue, Xhaçka: Women rights, our first priority during the mandate in the Security Council

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, participated in the first International Conference organized within the Prespa Forum for Dialogue which was held in Ohrid, North Macedonia.
During the panel "Women, Peace and Security - a Perspective from the Western Balkans", Minister Xhaçka summarized the situation regarding women's rights and their inclusion and empowerment in public life, while suggesting important steps to ensure reaching the objectives of this agenda.

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, participated in the Antalya Forum on "Neighbours See Together: The Future of Europe", attended by panelists such as MEP Sergey Lagodisnky, EU Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak and former Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta.
Minister Xhaçka emphasized the need for the European Union to remain attentive and closely support the region by taking pragmatic actions and consistently keeping its promises.

Minister Xhaçka at the SEECP Summit: Albania supports the strategy for promoting regional cooperation

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, attended the summit for South-East European Cooperation (SEECP) held in Antalya, Turkey.
Minister Xhaçka stressed that Albania has always considered regional cooperation as vital for the transformation of societies and the building of good neighborly relations.
According to her, the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) has been a valuable tool in the effort to promote regional cooperation, as well as an important actor in the reorganization of regional organizations and initiatives.

Netherlands “Yes!” to the opening of negotiations for Albania, Xhaçka: Ready for the First Intergovernmental Conference

Albania is now one step closer to opening negotiations with the European Union. The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, informs that the Dutch parliament has voted in favor of holding the first Albania–EU Intergovernmental Conference.
“The Netherlands gives the green light for Albania! The Dutch Parliament votes for the holding of the first Intergovernmental Conference because of Albania’s fulfilling of all conditions. This is much welcomed news and a well-deserved recognition of our reform deliverance”, the Minister stated in social networks.

Negotiations, Xhaçka at SEECP: Test of credibility and support for the regional cooperation

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, attended the meeting of Foreign Ministers and the South-East European Cooperation Process Summit (SEECP) held in Antalya, Turkey.
Minister Xhaçka praised the results achieved by the regional cooperation, emphasizing that the enlargement of the European Union has provided a very important impetus for the enhancement of this this cooperation.

Albania has been elected for the first time as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2022-2023 term.
Present during the voting process, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, stated that this is a historical moment and extraordinary opportunity for Albania.
 “It’s official! For the next two years, Albania is a member of the UN Security Council. A historical opportunity and an excellent achievement for the Albanian diplomacy! Gratefulness to all for the support!”, said the chief diplomat on social networks.
